Here is this week's WINNING WAYS . . . .

“Watch Out for Truth Decay”
by Tom Goodman

The U.S. Army is designing new cutting-edge equipment. Researchers are working on clothing that will change color like a chameleon for instant camouflage.  A lightweight shield will be stitched into the clothing to protect the solider not only from bullets but also from lethal microwave bursts from new radioactive weapons.  At this wrist of this suit will be a small GPS device that will help the solider pinpoint his exact location on the battlefield.  The suit will also come with a helmet that includes a short-range radio transmitter-receiver.  Over the helmet will be a visor polarized to protect the eyes from laser beams and equipped with sensors to detect toxic gases.  In addition to this visor, the modern soldier will wear infrared goggles at night to enable him to see in the dark.  And he will carry a stubby cylinder for a rifle that fires high-speed darts more accurate and deadly than present-day bullets.

All of these pieces of equipment were designed to help a soldier face the hazards of a modern battle: toxic gas, laser beams, microwave bursts, and so on.

In our fight against habits and moods that ruin life, God has given us everything we need to be victorious, too.  For the next six weeks, we are going to look at the “armor” God has provided for His soldiers.  The series is called “Fit to Fight: How to Beat Miserable Living.”

We begin this week with truth.  The more of God’s truth that we know and understand, the more victorious we will be in life.

Too many Christians are unwilling to think clearly about what they believe.  This Sunday we’re going to look at six objections some Christians have to a serious examination of our beliefs and we’ll discover how to answer these six objections.

See you at 8:30 or 10:45 this Sunday!
