Explore God

Have you seen the advertisements for the "Explore God" campaign yet?  Our church is one of over 280 Austin churches participating in the campaign.

This Sunday we'll show you how to do your part.

"Explore God" is a citywide effort to bring spiritually prepared believers together with spiritually curious people to begin to have conversations about God.  The campaign began this month with an area-wide advertising blitz designed to raise awareness and create curiosity regarding spiritual issues.

But the media blitz is not the essential element in "Explore God."

You are.

The media blitz in July and August will give way to a sermon series in September and October.  The sermons and small-group materials in every participating church will be centered on seven common questions about God and faith.

But again the sermon series, like the media blitz, is only a tool to get you engaged in spiritual conversations with your community.

You are the end of the spear.

The purpose of the advertising and the sermon series is to make it easier for you to start a spiritual conversation among those you know.  So this Sunday, we'll train you for that work.  After the 10am service, meet me in the gym at 11am.  The training will take the place of our normal small-group Bible study hour.

If you can't make it this Sunday, I will do the training again on Wednesday, July 24 at 6:15pm in A-161 in the Adult Wing, and again on Sunday, July 28 at 11:00am in the same room.  Or you can just watch the training session online.

With so many ways to get this training, we obviously want everyone to have it.

This citywide goal is for 400,000 spiritual conversations to take place and for 50,000 people to hear the gospel!  That's going to involve a lot of spiritually prepared believers.

And you need to be one of them.
