Give to Missions Ministries

Our members are involved in these ministries that have significant support needs. You can play a key part by giving financially or donating a few hours of your time.

Acuna Ministries

acunaThe Acuna ministries help relieve poverty conditions in the Acuna, Mexico area (near the Texas border). Your giving will directly support three efforts:

  • Building houses for families
  • Helping families complete houses they have started but can't finish
  • Scholarships - $95 can send a student to college for a semester

As funds accumulate, we can organize teams to make weekend or weeklong trips to Acuna to work on housing projects.

Breath of Life Maternity Ministries (Sarah's House)

Sarah's HouseSarah's House Maternity Home is a Christian home environment for women 18 years and older who are pregnant and in need of housing in the Austin metro area.

Sarah's house is part of Breath of Life Maternity Ministries, whose focus and goal is to establish support, both finansially and emotionally, for women in crisis pregnancy and the Christian maternity homes that provide aid to them.

When a woman chooses life, it requires more than supporting them through the 9 months of pregnancy. This is only the beginning!

Breath of Life Maternity Ministries is committed to a long term vision of walking hand-in-hand with these courageous women through the healing and heartache, allowing God's grace to completely transform their liveds and create a new future for these women, their children and supporting families.

Green Mountain Baptist Association - Vermont

Dorsett Family

As the second least churched state in America, Vermont cries out for spiritual assistance. Can you hear the cry of her heart? Does it call to your own heart? Why not join Terry Dorsett and his team of missionaries in reaching Vermont with the Gospel of Jesus Christ?

On a snowy winter day in 1993 Terry Dorsett and his family moved to Vermont as missionaries to serve the small rural churches of the state. Since then they have been joined by three other couples who serve with them full time, as well as several part time workers. (One of those couples, Dewey and Kathy Aiken hosted an HBC mission team in 2004 and visited Hillcrest in 2005.)

Together this team shares the good news of God's love to all who will hear. Their passion for evangelism and church planting motivate them to share the vision of what God is doing in Vermont with ministry partners around the country.

You can see the current GMBA financial, equipment and prayer needs on th GMBA web site.

Baptist General Convention of Texas - Mary Hill Davis Offering

Annie Armstrong

Over the years, the Mary Hill Davis offering has allowed Texas Baptists to begin new mission ministries that could not have been funded by the BGCT Cooperative Program.

River Ministry is the best example of how the offering enables the start of new ministries. The multi-faceted ministry along the Texas-Mexico border initially received all its funding through the Mary Hill Davis Offering and probably could not have grown over the years without continued financial support from the offering.

The statewide goal for the 2004 Mary Hill Davis Offering is $5 million. All of the money received will support BGCT ministries. Churches send their offering to the BGCT for disbursement to the various ministries. The offering also provides the entire operating budget for Texas Womens Missionary Union (WMU).
